4-H members, leaders, parents, and superintendents are in a hustle and bustle of finishing the last few details of preparing for harvesting their dreams and ribbons at the county fair. Some members are preparing for contests such as shooting sports, cake decorating, fashion revue, and creative cooks. While others are preparing for dog show, horse show and all the livestock shows. Throughout, this month 4-H members are completing record books and general projects such as cookies, rockets, woodworking, and entomology.
Learning Leaders
(Original poem by Carla Farrand, 4-H/FCS Specialist)
Glenda learned to create a rainbow bordello quilt using many small straight seams and stitches.
Henry built his first rocket and hopes if flies twice without any hitches.
Molly made a table learning wood working from her father.
Kaleb worked with the Ag agent to learn about building a worm farm to become an entrepreneur.
Scarlet worked with her family to grow her herd.
Lane learned from his mentor how to raise and show his bird.
Rhaya learned to be a leader and teach horse patterns to younger members.
Volunteers and families share their knowledge and skills growing learning leaders.
Support your County Fair
Please come and celebrate all the members and their learning this year at the county fair. Better yet, get involved and enter into open class or volunteer in some capacity for your county fair.
